Happy Birthday to Me

July 25, 2007 was the end of an era in my life.  The end of my twenties, I am offically a grown up.

In otherwords–I'm 30!

 30th B-day

I thought the day would be totally depressing for me, but it was actually pretty dang good. Brad surprised me by taking the day off work and we spent the day together.   We went to an afternoon movie and then out for dinner at this great tropical/island themed restaurant.  The food was great and the company was even better.   Our friends added to the birthday mood by graciously giving birth to their first born child on my birthday.  What friends we have!  Evan is the recipient of this: Log Cabin (outside) (click for bigger) We haven't gotten to meet the littler bugger yet as he caused his mom quite a bit of trouble on his birthday so we'll hopefully get to see them tomorrow.  Maybe I can get some shots of the log cabin in action.  Or maybe I'll just enjoy meeting this cool little guy who I'll share my birthday with.

Unhealthy dose of crazy…

Ok, so we just got back from vacation, and now we're going to drive about 2/3 of the way back the way we came to pick up some bikes we saw in a flea market on our way home.  I think it's time to call the men in the white coats.  It's one of those things–we've been searching all over, the price was right, we could just continue looking in our home area, but we know where these bikes are and what the price was and we may never find a better deal again.  If only we'd not had our car packed to the brim with vacation gear when we saw the bikes in the first place.  We could have just taken them home with us.  But no such luck.  ANd after a week of ruminating and fretting and rationalizing, we've decided just to be completely irrational and go on a spur of the moment, 200 mile roadtrip to retrieve a couple of old Schwinns.  My Mother says "Sometimes you have to do something inpractical to make life worth living."  Misson Accomplished!
